Strength & Resistance Training
Muscular strength is fundamental to all forms of physical activity. On a basic level, strength or resistance training is the process of progressively applying load onto muscles to stimulate development. From a general health perspective, strength training is a key component in performing your daily activities of life, as independently as possible, for longevity.
There are a number of health benefits associated with strength training, including, but not limited to, the following:
Physical capacity to perform work or exercise.
Physical appearance, body composition, weight loss and metabolic functions.
Injury and disease prevention.
Stronger bones and muscle mass.
Improved body mechanics—joint flexibility, mobility, balance, and coordination
Cardiovascular benefits.
